  Interesting Facts About Santillana

The Origin of Our Name

Grupo Santillana’s origins are in a famous historical town of Spain called Santillana del Mar. The name of the town Santillana is derived from the two words in Spanish, Llanos Santos. In English they translate to Elysian Fields or Holy Fields, and in French to the recognized Champs Elysées. In any language, the interpretation of these two words is heaven or paradise.
